Advent Calendar – Day 25

GEOMETRY – Geometry is everywhere in the Universe, and in our everyday life. From the mandalas kids color, to the grains of salt we put in our food and everything in between. This illustration presents the last letter of this Advent Calendar/Alphabet, and it’s a very special one, because it shows the planning behind this personal project. In the past days, since December 1, I’ve illustrated a series of concepts I wanted my kids to think about. It has been a fun research project, that I started a long time ago, and now I had the opportunity to accomplish. To work with the meaning, origin and versatility of words, looking for the symmetry with another language, and get my 6-years-apart kids to understand it has been a real challenge, but totally worth it. GEOMETRÍA – La geometría está presente en todo el Universo, y en nuestro día a día. Desde las mandalas que los niñ@s colorean, a los granos de sal que ponemos en la comida y todo lo demás. Esta ilustración presenta la última letra de este Abecedario/Calendario de Adviento y es una muy especial porque muestra la planificación detrás de este proyecto personal. Desde el 1 de diciembre hasta hoy he ilustrado una serie de conceptos para invitar a mis hijas a reflexionar sobre ellos. Ha sido un divertido trabajo de investigación que comencé hace tiempo y este año he tenido la oportunidad de acometer. Trabajar con el significado, origen, y versatilidad de las palabras, buscar la simetría en otra lengua, y conseguir que mis hijas (6 años aparte) lo comprendan, ha sido todo un reto, pero ha merecido infinitamente la pena. Espero que lo hayáis disfrutado tanto como nosotras.
